I am currently working on building a CGI space suit. This project has taught me a huge amount about hard surface modelling onto a human form. I have also really enjoyed the process of product design for each of the parts, particularly the backpack and helmet.
This project is an exercise in the development of a quick 5 min sketch I did a few weeks ago.
The next steps for this project are to finish the modelling of key components and then rig the armature. This will require a combination of rigging with automatic weighting and careful manual rigging of important parts.
